I think the back is underrated. The back, neck, and shoulders host beautiful muscles, bones, lines, and definition. Add the collar bone for the grand slam.

These are pattern stickers— a summer tradition between like-minded pattern enthusiast campers and me since 2007.

Camp uses dozens and dozens of label sheets a day for insulin dosages, medication, etc. Starting in 2007 (I think…), some of us decorated unused, leftover labels with patterns and slapped a different label on our shirts each day. We started with argyle and branched out to include other patterns— and the tradition has continued every summer since! Now that I’m no longer a counselor, I just include the stickers (enough for everyone) in a care package.

I sat down one afternoon last weekend and hammered these out with a pack of Crayola markers. It was also an easy way to experiment with new ideas and techniques. Example: this is the first time I have ever created animal print.

The labels aren’t meant to be Adobe-Illustrator-perfect— they’re quick, loose, and just need to communicate an idea. And the kids love it.
